Introduction

By creating the l’Atelier du Forgeron, Christophe de Tonge maintained the family tradition of forging which had been in the family for 4 generations.

He commenced his apprenticeship at the age of 16 working with his father. It was with him that he learnt the essential skills of forging and soon realised that he had a keen eye for detail and the desire to seek perfection in all his works.

With his perfectionist attitude Christophe enjoys producing the small details to accompany even the grandest of schemes. As well as fabricating bespoke staircases, doors and joinery, etc he has over the years developed a keen interest in hand crafted hunting knives and has fabricated a number of uniquely designed sets for individual clients.
